West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company is looking for the next generation of performers and production students to join our core company, with opportunities to work on two full scale public performances in Spring and Summer 2027
Our next audition day will be:
Date: Sunday, October 11th 2026
Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00PM (You can choose a morning or afternoon slot, we will try our best to accomodate your wishes)
Venue: URBAN HQ Cafe, 37 Orchard St, Swansea SA1 5AJ
What do I need to do to apply?

What will happen on the day?
Our staff team will meet you, you'll be asked to sign in and will be assigned a number. We ask that we take a photograph of you which will be deleted after the audition process (so we can identify you).
Performers will take part in a workshop style audition. You don't need to prepare anything, just be yourself. Please wear clothes you can move in.
Production students will participate in a creative and technical workshop and discussion. You don't need to bring anything with you.
What am I actually auditioning to be part of?
WGYTC is now over 50 years old. In that time we have found hundreds of young people, just like you who are creative, curious and want to be part of something special.
If you are successful in your audition, you will join our CORE COMPANY. This means you are a member until you are 21, and will receive invitations to join us on our bi-annual courses.
On these courses, we work together for 1- 2 weeks, rehearsing a production (or two, or three!) and at the end of the process, perform a professional quality production. You will also be invited to other opportunities and activities throughout the year.
One of the most special parts of WGYTC is the relationships that form. Friends for life is a common outcome.

What are the costs?
Auditions are FREE.
Each course costs £200. This includes all rehearsal and production costs.
We never want financial circumstances to be a barrier to anyone who wants to take part, and we can discuss options of financial assistance to cover all or part of course fees on a case by case basis.
